Liemers Verleden Achaeology English Figurine of a boar

Bronze figurine of a boar

The bronze figurine of a boar, which dates back to the second or third century A.D., is without doubt the most beautiful and also the most remarkable find at the Didam-Kollenburg site. Until today this is an unique find from The Netherlands with no parallels that we know of.

It was very likely made in Gallia and was probably used as a helmet sign.

Length of the figurine: 12 centimetres
